About Berns Brett Masaood

Berns Brett Masaood Commercial Insurance LLC is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi, UAE based Al Masaood Group and the London based Berns Brett Group (BBi). The BBi Group has been established for over forty years as an independent Insurance Broker, Financial Adviser and Risk Manager.

The BBi affiliated group of companies includes:

Commercial Insurance broking, risk managers and advisers

Support consultancy, health and safety services, HR services and training

The skills of the BBi group are available to all the group's clients no matter where they are based.

Berns Brett Masaood offers a truly differentiated service to that currently available in the UAE - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah market. Our research indicates that the majority of the existing brokers are transactional based and do not have expertise in areas outside of 'insurance placement'.

This is one of the reasons that many businesses arrange their insurance programmes direct with Insurers, and was a major influencing factor in our decision to enter the UAE - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah market. It is often perceived that lower premiums can be obtained when clients deal direct with Insurers. This is a myth and is only true when the placing broker does not possess the expertise, presentation and negotiating skills required. In many situations, Insurers will reduce premiums and increase cover, whilst paying commission to a broker, providing the broker can add value to the process.

Our aim is to be an integral part of your business and we want to be viewed as your insurance and risk control department and not merely a risk placing broker. Our risk control, technical and claims staff are dedicated to improving client knowledge and understanding of risk to reduce losses and, as a direct result, premiums.

Berns Brett Masaood was created to fulfil the needs of many GCC businesses as the requirement for advice and corporate governance increases for the Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah UAE. As the region develops and trades internationally, a different approach to insurance and risk management is needed to protect and sustain growth.
