This is one of the reasons that many businesses arrange their insurance programmes direct with Insurers, and was a major influencing factor in our decision to enter the Abu Dhabi UAE market. It is often perceived that lower premiums can be obtained when clients deal direct with Insurers. This is a myth and is only true when the placing broker does not possess the expertise, presentation and negotiating skills required. In many situations, Insurers will reduce premiums and increase cover, whilst paying commission to a broker, providing the broker can add value to the process.
